Back when we started in 2016, our background in engineering led us to approach our van builds more from the angle of airplane construction than that of a home builder. From overhead cabinets to wall panels to our galleys, we precision engineer aluminum and aluminum composites for the obvious benefits over carpenter-style wood builds.
For off-road performance, we also innovate with industry-first designs like our Limited Slip Differential that improves the traction performance of the Benz Sprinter, and our finely tuned lift and suspension kits that expand where you can drive your van.

There is a simple reason that we build our DuraLight Wall Panels, Series A Cabinets and other interior structures out of aluminum and aluminum composites—these materials out-perform wood every time on the values that matter in van design.
Aluminum is 60% lighter than wood, for an overall massive weight savings that lets you carry more gear, climb tougher terrain, and get better gas mileage. And unlike wood, aluminum doesn’t absorb water, chip or rattle loose over rough roads, so your OHV van holds up more durably over a lifetime of rambling in the wilderness.
Aluminum is also 66% thinner than wood, which translates into better space optimization in a space that is very small to begin with—we’re not building 6,000 square-foot homes after all.
The end result is a van that is 1,000 lbs lighter than other vans on the market, more durable when taken on regular adventures, and more spacious for hanging out inside.

To back this up, we offer a warranty and support program that is unmatched in the van and RV industry. All 2024+ Off Highway Vans come standard with a Lifetime Limited Craftsmanship and 5 Year Bumper to Bumper warranty.
OHV is the only van builder to offer a Lifetime Off Highway Van Warranty and 5-Year Bumper-to-Bumper Coverage. For as long as you own the van, we’ll repair, replace or refund any defects in the craftsmanship of the OHV work. With most other van companies offering a 1-year warranty, no one else comes close to OHV.
And in addition to covering the OHV work for the lifetime of the van, we also provide new van customers with our signature 5-year Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty on the Mercedes chassis and all components included in the conversion of new OHV vans. In addition to the chassis, this coverage extends to components such as HVAC systems, appliances, solar systems and upgraded suspension parts.
There is simply no better warranty policy in the van world.
OUR HISTORY
Our difference is rooted in our history. It goes all the way back to when OHV founder Aaron Pfadt rebuilt his 1968 Corvette Stingray. A few years later, it was on to Detroit and his early career in engineering transmission systems for GM and Chrysler, while competitively racing Corvettes on the side. After that, while continuing to race, he got the entrepreneurial bug and launched a business that engineered and produced race suspension parts. It’s safe to say, automotive engineering is in our DNA.
