1986 Toyota Rogue Motorhome with extended cab.
Manual transmission, good gas mileage.
22RE 4-cylinder engine runs great.
Only 100k miles on it, despite its age.
Clean title. It has new brakes, and shocks. It has been well maintained, regular oil changes etc. I have receipts for all the work that’s been done.
New backup camera and Garmin GPS and CD/aux stereo.
Non-powered steering, manual transmission. It's old school.
A professional craftsman do extensive renovation, including:
The roof has been completely replaced with steel beams and diamond plate on the front and back of the RV. The front window to the dormer area has been deleted, which is great because these front windows have been known to leak.
Extra supporting welding has been added on the undercarriage.
The passenger side wall in the house has been replaced with new panels custom-made by a meticulous craftsman.
The cushions for the dinette have been completely replaced with new machine-washable covers.
Interior was repainted light grey for more of a minimalist vibe rather than tacky 80’s dark brown veneer.
The kitchen counter has been replaced with a solid piece of finished hemlock, with trim around the in-counter outlet so that water can’t get in.
Dining area updated with a solid wood tabletop.
New vents over house and refrigerator.
Two new skylights so you can star gaze.
New curtains and hip copper curtain rods.
New AGM house battery.
New Dometic refrigerator.
New super efficient propane heater.
New USB outlet.
Documentation available for fridge, stove, heater, all appliances.
One minor issue is that the house door isn't locking from the inside currently. An easy fix would be adding a latch, or more expensive would be replacing the lock. Works fine from the outside though.
The craftsman who did the renovations is super OCD and detail-oriented. It’s a gorgeous, homey vibe for the couple or small family who wants to explore the country, or even a temporary ADU in someone’s backyard. When I purchased it, one wall had water damage. The wall that had some bad wood in it has been completely and meticulously replaced. Now it’s damage free and watertight, and the natural grain of the updated wood wall panel looks great.
I’ve enjoyed going on some camping trips in it. Now looking to downsize to finance a smaller van.
Pricing it at $14k, which is much less than I have invested in it (much closer to $18k). You may find other Toyota Motorhomes, but few that have such low mileage (many 22RE’s run to 300k without a problem), and none that have seen such extensive and artistic remodeling.
