Make + Model: Ford Transit 250 High Roof (with rear windows)
Insulation: Rockwool in the pockets of the van body, Reflectics, 1/2 and 3/4 inch Polyiso foam board, and Great Stuff Gaps and Cracks spray foam insulation in between the foam boards.
Heater: Factory-installed in front of van (standard when purchased)
We used our body heat, a hot water bottle, and extra blankets. We slept comfortably in as low as 20-30 degrees, but we had a few nights below zero. Or we just drove somewhere warm 🤓
We have all service records.
Electrical/Power: Goal Zero Yeti 400 battery bank
We have an unattached 100 watt monocrystalline solar panel, that we stored in a built-in storage space under the bed. We actually never used it because the battery charges when you drive, but of course it is useful if staying in one spot for a long time. It can also easily be mounted to the roof if desired.
The battery easily powered the Maxx Air fan and water pump, and charged our phones, camera, and computer.
Plumbing: Huge sink and stainless steel faucet attached to our Goal Zero Yeti 400, to make the water run. We also used the sink to wash our hair/our dog a couple times. It’s awesome. There’s 18 gallons of fresh water (Three 6 gallon water tanks), and 6 gallons for gray water. Space for a toilet underneath!
