Set Up: We are selling our 2014 Ford Econoline along with 2020 Amstar Nostalgia 50cc motorcycle. This ultra-stealth van is perfect for an individual or couple living full time and working from home, or as an adventure van seating up to 4 with an installed jump seat in the back. The van has only 30,xxx miles on it and is the last year that Ford's popular Econoline van was made.
Features: Power The Econoline has 400 watts of Renogy solar panels installed on the roof with a 100ah Renogy battery that powers a 12v system and a 120v system through a Renogy 1000W inverter. The inverter powers two outlets in the body for easy access charging and for power to the kitchen. Four recessed ceiling lights on two switches give control over internal lighting. Kitchen The kitchen has a 10-gal fresh water tank with a 12v water pump housed inside, controlled by a switch below the sink. Sink drains into a removable 3-gal grey water tank below. The pump on the sink can be used as an outdoor shower with the addition of a hose attachment. The kitchen has a very efficient Isotherm 12v fridge that can be powered day and night off the solar. A large 4' slab of English Walnut serves as counter and cooking space, and can be used as a cutting board (if you dare!) it's finished in beeswax for food-safety. Tiling covers the rest of the kitchen area while large sink space and storage spaces provide easy food storage, preparation, and clean-up. We've primarily used this van for camping and cooking outside on our Coleman and have not installed a stove, but the front cabinets have a 24" x21"x9" un-dedicated space that will easily house a stove and segregate a propane tank (if gas). Comfort The van has an awning installed on the roof, with drop down wing option for more privacy for the "front porch" area. The bed converts easily to a 2020 Jeep two-seater jump seat with seatbelts ready for two passengers or comfortable for working during the day. Two large drawers for clothing or supplies hold 3.5 cubic feet of storage accessible from inside the van. Below the bed is a deep "mud-room" for additional storage (we've used it for all our shoes, but could be used for anything that gets dirty - extra thick carpet is removable for cleaning). Windows on the side and rear doors are tinted to 5% limousine tint for stealth and privacy during the day, and fitted canvas inserts to the windows, and curtains on the front and rear provide extra light black-out at night. Storage Two drawers on 500lb sliders accessed from the rear doors provide storage of 10.6 cubic feet. The entire back 18" is left free to provide un-doctored storage space (skis, guitars, projects, even a bike will fit inside). Three of the four body doors have built in storage inside the wall panels that can be fastened closed. We've used these for cleaning supplies, coffee and tea storage, and outdoor gear storage. Hitched bike rack has a 2'x6' carrier and bike ramp. Safety (and Fun) The motorcycle is the perfect adventure vehicle once you've set up camp, but it also serves as a back-up to adventure into uncharted terrain (run out of gas? get stuck? no problem). The motorcycle is only 50ccs which means you don't need a motorcycle license in most states to drive it. Seats two comfortably(!) and comes with cover, helmet and alarmed wheel lock. Van also comes with a spare tire, jack, and emergency road-side safety equipment. Other A small compostable toilet space has many options for housing built in.
This set-up is a dream, and all hand-built over the last 6-months in quarantine. Everything is built in the nicest materials: the interior has cherry, walnut, and maple, all the ply is finished birch. We built with the goal that this van can be modified easily, which means there are no messy glue-ups, everything can be removed, cleaned, changed or even replaced! Nothing rattles and the design is tight and cleanly constructed.
