The city of Troy, Michigan originally owned the van. It was regularly maintained and serviced by the city. I purchased it in November 2017 changed the oil regularly. I recently had the front brakes replaced (lots of use on HWY 1 hills).
Interior is pine and floor is vinyl. Mattress and Coleman stove included. Ready to be lived and surfed out of. The Roof is a good candidate for a Fibrine hightop extension ($2-3k).
-Engine runs great, took it to MI, AZ, LA, SD in the last year
-Compact stealth camper (fits into most parking spots, enabling you sleep comfortably wherever you park)
-Cosmetic: chipped paint, dented door, cosmetic rust underneath and on the side. Had it looked at by a mechanic. There are no serious structural issues.
The rough appearance is also kind of a good thing, folks leave it alone when I park it in metro areas. These commercial vans take a beating and can last up to 350k miles if they are regularly maintained.
I lived in this stealth camper for the last 18 months. It pays for it self in a few months if you live in it full time and don’t pay rent. I’ll definitely miss my surf machine, but it’s time for a bigger space.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
