Camping/Living
All components except for the solar panel are brand new
Commuting
I bought this van new 4 years ago, and lived in it for 2.5 years while also using it to commute to work. My partner and I had a refrigerator and an induction stove running off the electrical system, and lived in it full-time. Because it's a new passenger wagon, it has a lot of amenities (listed above). Additionally, its clean appearance makes it a perfect van for city life--I lived in the van while teaching in the suburbs, and easily parked wherever I wanted without anyone raising an eyebrow.
After my marriage ended, I stripped the van and completely cleaned it out, and rebuilt it to be the way I wanted it. I re-did the electrical system with (almost--the solar panel is 2017) all new components, but with the same capacity that had supported the refrigerator, induction stove, and charging that I had lived off before. I wanted to make the small space feel as open and clean as possible, so I made sure to do a solid job with the insulation and ventilation to prevent mold, and put in a new floor and made the shelf tuck away into the wall.
I’m currently moving into a larger van, so I’m selling this one without having lived in the new version. I left it pretty open-ended--the cloth on the walls and ceiling is just attached with magnets so you can change it out or scrap it. I purposely didn’t cover up the walls in case you want to build more furniture. And although the electrical system is safe (wires and fuses are definitely correct), and it’s worked as predicted so far for both AC and DC, you will probably have to troubleshoot at some point since this is not a system I’ve been living with for years.
